Why Buy Only Quality Siberian Cats and Kittens

This breed is still very rare, around the world, and having that little Russian treasure in your home is an investment. We strive to work with only the most robust, healthy and gorgeous lines that have the true Siberian temperament and will become active, loving and interactive members of your household.

Procedures

Apply - Email us the answers to our easy questions found on the Application Page
Care & Diet Requirements - Read them in full and make sure you understand and can comply before we proceed. Decide which diet you want to feed (commercial dry and canned, Raw or a mix. We have a chart to help you get started. Be sure to ask us questions if needed so you can make the right decision for you and your family. You will be required to sign a copy of it for our records and agree to abide by it in the contract. Read the Pendraig Diet & Care Requirements.
Interview - Speak with us via phone or meet with us for an interview. This gives us both a chance to get to know one another and ask any questions we have face to face, or over the phone.We are happy to meet with you somewhere in Austin or at a Cat Show we are attending.
Waiting List Deposit - To get on our waiting list pay your Waiting List Fee of $50 for standard colors, $100 for rare colors (golden - male/female, and red female). We accept a limited number of people to a waiting list prior to any litter being born. Space is limited. Rare colors we will only accept one per litter where that color is possible. The wait may be considerable. We have a full waiting list for most litters months ahead of time. The wait may be short or it could be a year. The waiting list fee is non-refundable. No exceptions.
Reservation Deposit - When your kitten becomes available we will notify you first (based on your position on the waiting list and your preferences as to color/sex/age/lines/quality). Notify us that you want that kitten/cat and pay the remaining balance of the Reservation Deposit. If a kitten is available now, you can reserve it immediately after your application is approved if we feel the kitten is the right fit for you and your family. We will schedule a time to meet in person or talk by phone prior to accepting the Reservation. We generally do not accept firm deposits for kittens until they are 3 - 4 weeks old and can be accurately assessed for potential quality rating. No kitten or cat is considered as RESERVED until deposit funds have been received in full. We reserve the right to keep the kitten of our choice from each litter for our cattery or for breeder/show prospects. If the kitten is diagnosed later with a birth defect or other health issue we will not place the kitten but will hold your deposit for the next available kitten. The deposit is non-refundable unless we cannot provide a kitten within a year of payment. No exceptions.
Contract - Within a few weeks of receiving the deposit we will send you a PDF copy of your contract. Print up two copies (one for yourself and one for Pendraig Siberians). Read it carefully and email or call us if you have questions, concerns or comments. Be sure to initial the bolded areas where provided, initial and date the bottom of each page, and sign & date the final page of each copy. Mail us both copies and we will return yours to you after we've signed it. If you live in/near Austin we can meet and go over the contract together. The contract must be received within 14 days of Reservation Deposit to avoid any delays.
Payment in Full - Final Payments must be made when kittens are 12 weeks old. For older kittens or cats it is due 21 days prior to shipping or transfer of ownership. Cats/kittens will not be altered until the final payment is received. All Pet and Show Alter Kittens will be spayed/neutered at this time prior to leaving the cattery. This will be detailed in the contract. If you decide to not take your kitten all payments are forfeited. No refunds will be given. We have on occasion with a serious emergency given a partial refund when the kitten was placed but this may take 6 months or longer and is at our discretion. We reserve the right to hold all payments and to make a determination of what, if any, refund will be offered.
Shipping - If you choose to ship we usually use Continental Airlines. You will need to provide us with the nearest airport that services Continental Airlines and pay the estimated shipping costs of $300 - 400 which should include the carrier & vet certificate and travel expenses. We do not ship kittens in temperatures below 40 degrees F or above 85 degrees F except by special arrangement via Continental Airlines. We will send a Kitten Transfer form for you to fill out and we will give you directions for picking up your cat at the airline.
Delivery or Pick-up - delivery or pick-up may be arranged if you live within a certain distance. Delivery charges do apply and you are responsible for the cost of the carrier used for transport. You may bring your own approved carrier for Pick-Up or buy one from us.

Explanation of Deposits and Fees

Waiting List Fee: $50 - Standard colors Kittens & Cats are placed on a first come first serve basis. To better your chances of getting the first kitten of the quality, type and gender you prefer be sure to fill out an application and get on our waiting list today. This fee will later be put towards the final payment due before the kittens go home. This is a per kitten charge. (Rare colors such as golden (male or female), and red females are $100 each and we will accept only one of each per breeding where those colors are possible). This fee is non-refundable. No exceptions!


Reservation Deposit: $500 or 50% of the purchase price of the kitten, whichever is greater. Reservations on a specific kitten will be taken once they are 3 - 4 weeks of age. If a deposit was already paid to be put on the waiting list it will be deducted from the total amount due as the final payment and not towards the reservation price. This fee is non-refundable unless we cannot provide you with a kitten within a year of payment. No exceptions!
Purchase Price: Full Purchase Price will be assessed and any previous deposits made deducted from final amount due when the kittens are 12 weeks old OR in the case of older kittens or cats 21 days before the scheduled delivery, pick-up or shipment of the kitten/cat. Payment is non-refundable. No exceptions!
Payment Methods: We prefer Cashier's Check (USA Banks only), Wire Transfer through Western Union for Next Day Delivery or Same Day, or Money Order (US Postal Service or Western Union). Most Fees may also be paid using Credit Card. Contact us for details. A 5% convenience fee applies to all credit card payments.

Explanation of Quality Ratings

Prices are Based on Quality Rating

Pet Quality - $1250 - $2000 (rare colors are more): Pets are in no way inferior to the other qualities except that they don't have good markings or coloring for showing or the right genetics for breeding. They will make wonderful and amazing pets. Our pet kittens are affordably priced and include our health guarantees, spay/neuter ($300 value depending on your local vets prices), microchip ($50 value) and benefits package. Some pets are show quality but we opt for a happy pet home where they can enjoy their life. Some Rare colorings and other factors determine price and price is subject to change.
Show Prospects (Alters) - Contact for Pricing: Kittens and Cats that are potential show cats. These cats have excellent conformation, temperament and coloring that has great potential in the show ring. Rare colorings, Champion or rare bloodlines, and other factors determine price. Show alters will be spayed/neutered prior to placement and surgery and microchip is included in price.
Breeding Prospects - Contact for Pricing: Contact us for Pricing and Availability. Breeding rights are given out after careful screening. We do not sell to casual breeders, pet-shops, brokers or "kitten mills". First time breeders should have a mentor and be prepared to title one of our show alters first. If you do not have a mentor we can discuss a show alter and mentoring options. We absolutely will not sell breeders (or intact cats) to anyone using Siberian Cats for crossbreeding such as Ragamuffin or Leopold programs. We also place our breeding cats into Traditional Siberian Catteries only.
Retired Adults - Contact for Pricing: Affordably priced and a great value these cats are perfect for people on a fixed income or who want to skip the kitten phase (and training/time it involves). These are cats that were a part of our breeding program and are now retired to enjoy a quiet and happy life as someone's cherished pet. Sometimes we hold back a kitten from a breeding expecting to show or breed them but for some reason the cat is unsuitable, or dislikes showing, so we retire them early to a great home. All retiring cats (and older kittens) will be spayed/neutered prior to placement and this is included in their pricing.

Benefits Package

Health Guarantee - Up to a 12 year health guarantee is available if you choose our Ideal Diet & Care Plan. Even if you choose the General Plan we offer one of the best health guarantees you will find anywhere.
Spay/Neuter Surgery - Depending on the local prices at your vet this surgery can cost easily $300. We include this service in the purchase price of your kitten so there aren't extra large expenses later. And because the surgery is done here we can be sure it's done right, we know what to look for as far as problems or complications (which are rare) and we have a vet that is very experienced doing this procedure on younger cats.
Microchip - This life saving device can cost at least $50 at your vet but we include it in the purchase price. Why do we do this? Because cats are notoriously hard to recover if they do get lost, run away or are stolen. Tattoos are hard to see and shelter workers may not find them but it has become routine to scan for a chip. And the chip has a unique id number that will direct them to you and to the breeder. That way even if you are away we will be here to contact when/if someone finds your beloved pet. This is the best protection available to make sure your cat is returned to you.
Kitten Care Kit - We start you off with various toys, a scratching pad, a brush, and at least one of the natural cat care books we recommend. Also for local pick up you will receive a free bag of World's Best Cat Litter, coupons for more litter and a cannister of the amazing pet mess clean up produce Clean+Green. All of this is included in the purchase price.
Our expertise and advice for the life of your kitty - That's right, we are here for you long after the sale. Have a question? Have a worry? Did the cat eat something and the vet's closed? We will try to help! We are not veterinarians but our long time experience with cats and this breed is here for you and your kitty. We won't leave you hanging out in the cold.
CFA Papers - You know you are getting a purebred, registered, traditional and authentic Siberian Cat because you will have the papers to prove it. You will also receive a copy of the parent's pedigrees in our new kitten booklets.
Medical History - All kittens will receive a final exam before leaving our cattery. The veterinarian makes notes on a paper just for you indicating that a full health exam was performed. Each litter is routinely dewormed and will also be checked before leaving for any parasites. Each mother is checked for FIV/FeLV once per year. You will be provided a list of when and what medical procedures were done to pass onto your vet including immunizations. We will also provide a list of what procedures are next, when they should be done and a number to call if you have any questions.
