    The Animal Rights Industry

Part 1 - Animal Rights Industry in The Light of Day

The Animal Rights Industry Wants to Take Your Pets Away

Most pet owners are blissfully unaware of the war that is being waged against their furry family members by groups that claim to be protecting animals. The unfortunate truth is that these Animal Rights groups do not care about animals at all.  Instead the Animal Rights Industry is all about making money by controlling people and destroying all animal ownership (including pets and agriculture). They do not care about Animal Welfare, yet they are most often confused as Animal Welfare Groups by the media and public. PETA and HSUS are not what you think; their single goal is to end all animal use, hunting, and even pet ownership and make money doing it. PETA and HSUS are two of the most influential and dangerous Animal Rights groups out there and it is important that they are stopped or we might lose our pets and our way of life forever.

Animal Rights: It’s Not About Helping Animals

HSUS and PETA dupe many of their followers and supporters into believing that they are there to help animals, to stop animal cruelty and to help pets find homes.  This couldn’t be further from the truth.  HSUS and PETA’s main goals are to put an end to all animal use and ownership while making money off of concerned animal lovers.  Part of this goal includes the destruction and eradication of all domestic animals.  They do not want to “set Fido free”.  They want to send Fido to the gas chamber.

In order to fulfill this goal they must force legislation to be passed that makes it impossible for every day citizens to own, breed, hunt or have any other contact with animals.  A huge part of this goal is criminalizing anyone who owns pets, breeds pets or livestock, hunts, trains, works for or runs rescues, zoos, aquariums or circuses.  They also want to criminalize such activities as hunting, fishing, farming (livestock), sporting events involving animals (rodeos, equestrian jumping, dressage etc).

Because of these goals much of their funding goes towards lobbying efforts as well as funding their expensive litigation and legislative departments.  What is most shocking however is that most of the money donated to these organizations is used to pay for more fundraising!  That’s right.  They are spending money in order to make more money!  This money could be spent to run shelters, offer free spay/neuter clinics all over the country and support education on dog training and behavioral issues.

Humane Society of the United States (HSUS)

The HSUS is the wealthiest animal rights organization in the world.  HSUS made more than enough money to run a no kill shelter in every statei.  Yet virtually none of their money goes towards helping to re-home or rehabilitate animals in need.  They do not run any shelters.  In fact it is much worse than that.

In the aftermath of the devastating Hurricane Katrina the HSUS took advantage of the horrendous conditions to con animal lovers out of money in the name of saving animal victims.  “Public disclosures of the disposition of the $34 million in Katrina-related donations add up to less than $7 million” iI.  Attorney General of Louisiana opened up an investigation into the missing funds.  Just when it looked like we might see some justice greed prevailed. The HSUS bought themselves a reprieve by helping to fund a $600,000 shelter near a prison3.  Of the remaining money none has gone to help any animals in need.  Does this sound like an organization that is helping animals?

    PETA

PETA is just as bad.   PETA collected over $29 million in 2004 alone.  Where does that money go?  It doesn’t go towards funding No Kill shelters or Low Cost Spay and Neuter clinics.  Instead, what isn't used for fundraising is used for paying legal fees to defend criminals and their criminal activities.  “During the past ten years, PETA has spent four times as much on criminals and their legal defense than it has on shelters, spay-neuter programs, and other efforts that actually help animals.”iii

While PETA does run a “shelter” it’s more of a concentration camp where they euthanize over 97% of the animals they took iniv .  These are often healthy, adoptable animals.  Even when PETA promises the families that must give up their pets that they will find them homes they still euthanize them.  And their shelter isn’t the only pet death service PETA offers.  They have roving pet murder van that comes right to you, like delivery pizza.  Only difference is you didn’t order it.

In 2007 two employees of the People for the Ethical Treatment of animals were on trial after they were found dumping animal corpses in a public dumpsterv .  During the course of the trail it was discovered that they were working for PETA by driving a van around, collecting stray animals and euthanizing them on the spot then dumping the bodies in grocery store dumpsters.  There is doubt among many that all the animals they “found” were strays and such roving death vans would explain some of the disappearing pets from people’s backyards.

These two killers were accused of killing 18 pets and dumping their bodies but they surely killed more before they were caught.  Graphic photos are available on the PETA Kills Animals Website but they are not for sensitive individuals.  http://www.petakillsanimals.com/petaVictims.cfm

They drove around a PETA van and had a PETA “death kit” with syringes and other items useful for killing people’s puppies.  More photos of these available on the PETA Kills Animals Website and some more photos of dogs and puppies they killed: http://www.petakillsanimals.com/shockingphotos.cfm
    Are you convinced yet?

    ASPCA

The ASPCA is probably the most dangerous of all the groups in that they confuse the public and “soft-sell” the Animal Rights Industry’s agenda.  By slowly planting into the minds of the public that the only way to “end animal cruelty” is to end all contact between humans and animals.  While the ASPCA does help animals in need they are also working to systematically destroy all rights to animal ownership.

Despite their supposed stance against mandatory spay and neuter legislation (MSN) touted on their website they have fully supported MSN in various states including California.  After PetPAC and grassroots efforts brought attention to the anti-pet bill AB 1634vi , a nasty piece of MSN legislation, we find the ASPCA changing their tune.  Likely because they realize the primary source of their funding, pet owners, are getting wise to the real agenda behind MSN and other anti-pet and anti-breeder legislation.

In many ways the ASPCA is the most dangerous organization in the Animal Rights Industry.  While they do not seem to take the extreme measures of PETA, nor actively support terrorist groups like HSUS and PETA, they have a more sinister approach.  Because of their reputation as an organization that stops animal cruelty in its worst forms they are respected as authorities on animal welfare.  They are not seen as radicals, when in fact they have the same agenda as the HSUS and PETA.  Their methods are subtle yet extremely effective.
