Otto's story is unusual. We knew at birth that he was something special. Not only did he have a dazzling pattern that mesmerizes the eye but we could see the best of both his parents promised to us in this little, helpless newborn.
As he grew he started to show even more promise but with our plans then it made no sense for us to keep a stud out of Karat. We had planned to have a few litter options to keep a kitten out of Karat and one of our other queens but plans change, and we found ourselves without a male of our own, with a leased male leaving soon, and no kitten that we kept out of Karat for our cattery. We began our search among catteries we admire, and our friends to find a great stud but none were suitable or those we did find were not available.
During all of this Otto had a wonderful home with a family starting up their cattery, girls he loves and his owner who not only enjoyed showing him but loves him with all her heart. It was not meant to be however as life does change on us suddenly they were faced with the impossible decision to send him back to us though it was painful and heartbreaking. We are sad for his previous family but happy to be seeing him again and it cannot be anything less than destiny that brings him back to us.
So, it is with this mix of joy and sadness we welcomed back our boy Otto. We had hoped to find him a new home but it soon became apparent that he had a special bond with our son Gabriel and it would have been a crime to separate them and to force Otto to once again leave a home where he was happy so here he stays. We have enjoyed having him as part of our family and because of his special love with Gabriel we had him neutered so that he would not become moody or difficult and could spend much of his day with his best friend on earth. Later we enrolled Gabriel as a Junior Exhibitor in TICA and let him show his cat (with lots of help of course). He isn't thrilled to show but puts up with it for Gabriel's sake and even plays a bit if the judges interact with him. We were so thrilled to get his champion title at the show in Corpus Christi 2011 and now Gabriel tells everyone how HIS Otto is a CHAMPION!
Gabriel and Otto have a special bond. Otto will do anything for Gabriel just out of the love in his heart. Though he would have made an excellent stud we chose not to keep him intact. After the traumatic experience of losing his previous family and the love he bears our son it was not fair to have him hormonal and seperated from Gabriel by necessity. Now as an alter they never have to be parted and both are very happy with the arrangement. His half brother Pendraig Rhys will take his spot as our stud in training. If you get down to a Texas show look us up! You may get to meet the beloved Siberian Cat Otto and his best buddy Gabriel.
Here we will post Otto's show brags.
Otto got his first final at the TICA show in Corpus Christi, Texas in December 2011. Thank you to the wonderful judge. Otto is now a Champion and we are very proud of him especially Gabriel.

Mini Biography: This is our homebred boy, Pendraig Otto. He is out of some wonderful cats and has a pedigree full of champions and outstanding traditional cats.
He is a large kitten already showing promise to be a large male, probably even bigger than his sire. At just 5 months old he was already nearly 8 pounds. He has been raised following our Natural Rearing Model and is a testament to it's success creating healthy, robust and large cats.
Otto's Legacy Unfolds: Though he will never be a stud cat he already has a legacy as a gentle companion to our young son and his first title in TICA. His show career is in spurts when we have time and energy to help Gabriel show him but we hope to continue and help him achieve even greater success but mostly because our son enjoys taking him to the shows.
